The Mask and Mirror (The Definitive Edition) is the second installment in Loreena McKennitt's ongoing Definitive Editions series. The set revisits McKennitt's fifth studio album, released in 1994 and shaped by Spanish, Celtic and Moroccan influences. The self-produced record marked a major international breakthrough for McKennitt, eventually selling more than 3 million copies worldwide.

The collection includes the remastered original album, Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes, high-resolution stereo audio, plus a restored 1994 Mountain Stage concert broadcast, a 1994 promotional concert in Stratford, Ontario, and the 1995 television documentary No Journey's End. More than an hour of spoken-word material features McKennitt revisiting the album through archival interviews and newly recorded liner notes.
