Knocked out in two marathon 1956 sessions at Rudy Van Gelder's studio, these living, breathing performances became landmark hard-bop albums featuring Davis, John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. Mastered from the original analog tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, each LP is housed in a Stoughton Printing tip-on jacket, with a 12-page booklet of liner notes by Bob Blumenthal.
