Stan Getz & Gerry Mulligan - Getz Meets Mulligan In Hi-Fi - Acoustic Sounds Series LP
180 Gram Vinyl, Acoustic Sounds Series, Stoughton Tip-On Gatefold Jacket
Getz Meets Mulligan in Hi-Fi is the 1957 Verve album pairing saxophonists Stan Getz and Gerry Mulligan in a unique first-time collaboration where they traded instruments — Getz on baritone and Mulligan on tenor for the opening tracks. Produced by Norman Granz, the session features a stellar rhythm section of pianist Lou Levy, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Stan Levey, with both leaders in warm, laidback mid-'50s form. This Acoustic Sounds Series reissue was mastered by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab from the original master tape and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings.
