As the follow-up to 2004's Soviet Kitsch, Begin to Hope marks Spektor's first collaboration with producer David Kahne. She broadens her palette with synth keyboards, drum machines, electronic loops and layered vocal harmonies for a trailblazing pop record that includes "Fidelity," "Better," "On the Radio" and "Samson."
