The Thorens TAS 1500 is a moving-coil cartridge designed for serious analog playback, using premium materials and precision assembly to deliver clean tracking, strong dynamics, and low-level detail without sounding sharp or clinical.
A solid boron cantilever carries a Microline diamond stylus for long groove contact and low record wear, and the cartridge is a natural first MC step for Thorens' SME-headshell decks — the TD 1500, TD 1600/1601, and the 400-series direct drives — or any arm that welcomes a classic half-inch MC of medium weight.
