The original TD 124 is arguably the most iconic turntable Thorens has ever built — the broadcast-grade deck that anchored serious systems for decades and still commands cult devotion today. The TD 124 DD brings the legend back with thoroughly modern engineering: the vintage idler-wheel drive gives way to a high-precision, high-torque direct drive with strong torque, precise speed control, and dramatically reduced transfer of motor vibration to the platter.

The TP 124 tonearm adds full adjustability, a ruby-bearing anti-skating design, and a patented electric lift, with a removable SME-connector headshell for quick cartridge changes. The height-adjustable aluminum chassis rides on vibration-damping rubber elements, keeping the classic silhouette while isolating the platter and arm from the outside world. Both RCA and true balanced XLR outputs plus an external power supply complete the package for clean system integration.

Choose the Standard configuration and mount the cartridge of your choice — the included counterweight is prepared for SPU-style pickups — or have it delivered with Thorens' own SPU 124 moving-coil (nude elliptical stylus, 0.5mV output), the modern SPU made for this very deck.
