A reissue of a bonafide Latin classic from 1979 by Cuban-born violinist Alfredo de la Fe, who worked with greats including Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colón and Roberto Roena. His debut comprises two distinct halves: the A-side delivers Latin dancefloor workouts with the violin innovatively placed centre stage, while the B-side ventures into string-laden disco-funk and Latin jazz. Highlights include the Larry Levan / Paradise Garage favorite "Hot to Trot," a cosmic Latin-jazz take on "My Favorite Things," and the epic closer "Canto del Corazon." A true masterpiece from the trailblazing "El violín de la salsa."
