Bill Evans - New Jazz Conceptions (Mono) - Analogue Productions 45rpm LP
180g 45 RPM Double LP, AAA Analog from Original Master Tapes, Pressed at RTI
In September 1956, a 27-year-old pianist named Bill Evans quietly recorded New Jazz Conceptions—his debut album, and a bold opening statement from a musician still flying under the radar. Miles Davis hadn't called him up yet, but the introspective touch, harmonic daring, and rhythmic sensitivity that would soon reshape modern jazz piano are already fully formed here, whether in intricate trio interplay with bassist Teddy Kotick and drummer Paul Motian or in luminous solo passages. For collectors it is the blueprint for everything that followed, including the first recording of "Waltz for Debby." This Analogue Productions edition was mastered AAA analog from the original master tapes by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman and pressed at RTI.
