Ortofon - MC X50 MC Phono Cartridge

The new flagship of Ortofon's MC X Series — nude Micro Ridge diamond on a boron cantilever with pure silver coils.

The MC X50 represents the highest level of performance in the MC X Series. Its nude Micro Ridge diamond stylus ensures exceptional tracking accuracy and long-term stability — the exceptionally narrow side radius delivers superior high-frequency tracking, reduced inner-groove distortion, and remarkable longevity. Combined with a boron cantilever, it provides superior transient response, resolution, and low distortion. Coils are wound with high-purity silver wire and driven by the MC X Series' newly developed magnet system with one-piece pole cylinder, housed in a MIM stainless steel body with honeycomb core structure. A newly formulated rubber suspension compound was engineered specifically for the MC X50.
