Ruby Rushton's fifth studio album Legacy!, written by band leader Tenderlonious and keys player Aidan Shepherd, marks a new chapter for the hugely influential UK jazz group. Where the band — also featuring trumpeter Nick Walters and drummer Tim Carnegie — once worked with a "one take" live approach, here they combined their virtuosic playing with Tenderlonious' studio production, layering horn and flute lines over the original live takes for a wider sonic spectrum than ever before. Recorded across four days in early 2025 at Rimshot Studios in Kent, it captures a tight-knit band at the peak of its powers.
