Keyboardist/composer Doug Carn was the biggest star on the legendary Black Jazz Records label, but very few have heard his 1969 debut, cut for Savoy. Real Gone Music tracked down the original master tapes for this first-ever LP reissue — an all-analog edition pressed at Gotta Groove Records with proprietary GrooveCoated stampers. A tight organ-trio set (Doug Carn on organ, with drummer Albert Nicholson and guitar), it opens with a groovin' take on "Walk Right In" and shows the compositional prowess Carn would later flash on his Black Jazz releases. Includes an insert with liner notes by Aaron Cohen based on an exclusive interview with Carn.
