Cedar Walton was one of the most influential hard bop pianists, best known as the pianist with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Bassist Ron Carter and drummer Jack DeJohnette each rose to fame through their work with two different Miles Davis groups. Recorded December 22-23, 1983, this 1984 session was the only recording the three jazz legends made together, also known as The All American Trio.
