A year before his death, Elvis recorded these songs in the studio set up at his Graceland mansion — the second-to-last studio album he would make before passing in 1977. It became his fourth album in four years to reach No. 1 on the Billboard country chart and includes "Hurt," a top-10 hit on both the country and adult contemporary charts. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in October 1977.
