Without a doubt the weirdest and most adventurous France Gall record, 1968 dives deep into psychedelia, layering sitars and echoes of the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks and Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys over music that remains unmistakably French. English producer/arranger David Whitaker brings a new airiness to the mix, and the album includes two of Serge Gainsbourg's strangest arrangements, "Nefertiti" and "Teenie Weenie Boppie." Third Man Records issued the first authorized North American vinyl pressing on 180-gram vinyl.
