Gil Scott-Heron - Small Talk at 125th & Lenox - LP
$32.99
Vinyl LP, Gatefold, UK Import
Gil Scott-Heron was just twenty-one when Bob Thiele signed him to Flying Dutchman to record an album of his poetry. The resulting Small Talk at 125th & Lenox was cut before a small live audience and released in 1970, opening with a spoken-word version of "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." Its sharp observations on the Black community in America — none starker than "Whitey on the Moon" — still resonate today. Reissued on vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with the original liner notes.
