Crafted by drummer, percussionist and arranger Herman Kelly with his Miami disco-funk group Life, the record spans disco, funk and Latin-inspired cuts. Its legendary break has since been sampled in well over 100 songs by the likes of DJ Shadow, N.W.A and Run-D.M.C.
