An impressive Blue Note debut from vibraphonist Joel Ross, a young artist who came up alongside Makaya McCraven, Walter Smith III, Marquis Hill and James Francies. Carrying the label's vibraphone legacy forward, Ross explores the foundations that shaped him, first and foremost family: the title track is dedicated to his mother, while other compositions honor his twin brother, father and niece. He's joined by alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, pianist Jeremy Corren, bassist Benjamin Tiberio, drummer Jeremy Dutton and vocalist Gretchen Parlato.
