Recorded in 1961 for the Candid label, Memphis Slim, U.S.A. captures the legendary blues pianist and vocalist rolling through a set of original boogies and slow blues. Backed by guitarist Arbee Stidham and harmonica player Jazz Gillum, Slim delivers warm, after-hours barroom blues, with liner notes by Nat Hentoff. This reissue is newly remastered by Michael Graves with a fresh lacquer cut by Jeff Powell.
