In 1958 a young Michel Legrand convinced the very best players in New York — Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Ben Webster, Phil Woods and more — to record his idiosyncratic, forward-looking arrangements of jazz standards. The result reinvented the very nature of orchestral jazz repertoire. This numbered, limited-edition Impex pressing cuts the album at 45 RPM across two 180-gram LPs, mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from an analog transfer of the original 1958 work tapes.
