Miles Davis' My Funny Valentine captures a benefit concert at New York's then-new Philharmonic Hall just months after President Kennedy's assassination. It was the final time on record Davis would perform standards rather than originals, and one of the last documents of the band behind Seven Steps to Heaven. With Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and tenor saxophonist George Coleman, Davis never sounded so elegant or poetic. Mastered from the original master tapes for this hybrid SACD.
