2018 release — the first album of new studio recordings in over two decades from the celebrated Bulgarian choir better known as Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, Grammy winner for Best Traditional Folk Recording. BooCheeMish unites the ensemble's multi-part a cappella arrangements with erstwhile 4AD labelmate Lisa Gerrard, co-founder of Dead Can Dance, who appears on several tracks. The album weaves Bulgaria's age-old vocal traditions together with acoustic strings, percussion and even beatbox, sounding at once strikingly modern and deeply rooted in folklore.
