Musical Dialogues with Drummer Thomas Strønen on Vinyl LP

Recorded between 2018 and 2022 in Oslo, New York, Basel, and Lugano, Relations presents Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen solo and in a series of absorbing duets with Craig Taborn, Chris Potter, Sinikka Langeland, and Jorge Rossy. The broad frame of reference spans Langeland's archaic-sounding folk, Potter's post-Coltrane saxophone, and Taborn's whirlwind modernist piano, implying new threads of connectivity and new creative relationships. The album was completed and mixed by Strønen and producer Manfred Eicher at Bavaria Musikstudios in Munich in February 2023.
