Original artwork and markings faithfully recreated!
Syd Barrett was one of the most enigmatic members of 20th century music, blazing a trail that produced some of the most thought-provoking psychedelic music ever created. Pink Floyd to solo recordings, Syd Barrett's compositions are impossible to pin down into one box and it feels like the beauty and complexity of the music enhances with age. The Madcap Laughs and Barrett were both released in 1970 and represent Syd as his extreme characteristics evolved in places far too much to handle for anyone. He would later go into seclusion after this era and the albums remain a transitional point into many unknowns for Syd and the publics perception.
Rhino Records and Parlophone have joined forces for a 180-gram vinyl reissue series on Syd Barrett's infamous discography, thrilling fans at the prospect. The Madcap Laughs (1970), Barrett (1970) and Opel (1988) are presented in their original forms, complete with authentic Harvest label markings and everything else that was present on the originals. Where The Madcap Laughs and Barrett were albums he completed and authorized as official studio albums, Opel served as an alternate take view point, released in the late '80′s when Barrett had stepped outside of the music communities view for some time.
