Upstairs at Eric's is the iconic 1982 debut from Yazoo — known as Yaz in the U.S. — the duo of former Depeche Mode keyboardist Vince Clarke and soulful singer Alison Moyet. One of the first records to successfully fuse electronica and R&B, it rose to No. 2 on the U.K. album chart on the strength of dancefloor favorites like "Don't Go," "Only You" and "Situation," influencing everyone from the Pet Shop Boys to Deee-Lite.
