Released in 1983, A Fistful Of 4 Skins captured a reborn lineup of the East London Oi! mainstays: with only bassist Hoxton Tom McCourt remaining from the debut, the band now featured Roi Pearce (of The Last Resort) on lead vocals, Paul Swain on guitar, and Ian Bransom on drums. The result is a more melodic, musically assured take on the band's no-frills street punk — heavy guitar stomp, chant-along choruses, and lyrics rooted in the tribulations of working-class urban life. A defining document of the U.K.'s second-wave punk movement.
