The AT-VM510xCB is built on Audio-Technica’s Vertical Dual Magnet design, with two magnets arranged in a V that closely mirrors the cutter head used to make the vinyl master. The new x-series generator pairs paratoroidal coils wound with PCUHD (Pure Copper Ultra High Drawability) wire and reduced coil turns, improving transient response so the cartridge reacts more quickly to signal changes, while a center shield plate between the channels reduces crosstalk for richer, more nuanced reproduction.

Its 0.6 mil conical bonded stylus tracks the center of the record groove for reliable performance and durability, carried on an aluminum pipe cantilever inside a durable, low-resonance polymer housing. Threaded inserts make two-screw mounting on any half-inch headshell simple, a V-cut stylus protector doubles as a visual alignment reference, and the body accepts other AT-VMx replacement styli so you can upgrade the stylus without changing cartridges.
