Audio-Technica - Replacement Stylus AT-VMN70xSP

Genuine Audio-Technica AT-VMN70xSP replacement stylus — a 3.0 mil conical for the AT-VM670xSP, cut for shellac 78s.

78 RPM shellac records were cut with a much wider groove than microgroove vinyl, and playing them properly takes a tip sized to match. This 3.0 mil bonded conical is that tip, and it needs 5.0 g of tracking force to sit correctly — far more than any stereo stylus in the range.

Audio-Technica lists it for the AT-VM670xSP and the legacy VM670SP only. Made in Japan, rated at roughly 300 to 500 hours.

• Important: For shellac 78s only — a 3.0 mil tip will not track microgroove LPs or 45s. Rebalance the tonearm to 5.0 g before use, and reset it before fitting any 2 g stylus.
