Under the direction of producer David Foster, the songs achieve remarkable polish, and the crisp and dynamic sound is supported by Jeff Porcaro on drums, David Hungate on bass, Steve Lukather on guitar, and Ray Parker Jr. on guitar. "Breakdown Dead Ahead" (US No.15) and "Jojo" (US No.17) were released as singles. A Japan tour was held at the time, and the concerts were so popular that they were broadcast on television. This Japan-only edition uses a hybrid disc with an SACD stereo layer and a CD stereo layer.
