Big Dog is the debut solo album from Bria Salmena, longtime frontwoman of Canadian post-punk band FRIGS and a vocalist in Orville Peck's live band. Written over several years with her closest collaborator, producer and multi-instrumentalist Duncan Hay Jennings, the record blends hypnotic krautrock and shimmery shoegaze with goth, darkwave, and electronic textures. Salmena's commanding voice — by turns tender, raw, and defiant — anchors a deeply personal exploration of resilience and artistic independence.
