Originally released in 1987, Locust Abortion Technician is widely regarded as the record on which Texas's Butthole Surfers fully realized their deranged potential. Part of Matador's reissue series of the band's essential early albums, this edition has been fully remastered by JJ Golden with guidance from the band's Paul Leary. From the Black Sabbath-quoting opener "Sweat Loaf" to the warped found-vocal collage "22 Going on 23," it remains a landmark of American underground rock.
