Both Worlds marks a distinctive chapter in pianist Michel Petrucciani's career, bringing together three European and three American musicians for a project that balances two worlds, geographically and culturally. For the first time, Petrucciani entrusted his compositions to arranger Bob Brookmeyer, with drummer Steve Gadd contributing to the production. The result is a richly emotional set in which Petrucciani sits within a true group, using the horns as accompaniment and counterpoint as never before in his work.
