The Mobile Fidelity Electronics SourcePoint 10 Master Edition is a ground-up refinement of the acclaimed loudspeaker that put designer Andrew Jones' point-source concept on the map. After more than two years of development in his private California studio, Jones reworked the heart of the speaker — the crossover — into a three-way, user-selectable network built across two dedicated circuit boards from audiophile-grade parts. The result is tighter integration between the woofer and tweeter, lower distortion, and a treble you can tailor to your room and taste, all while preserving the soundstaging, imaging, and dynamic punch the original earned its reputation for.

At its core sits a custom-tooled 10-inch concentric driver with a 1.25-inch soft-dome tweeter mounted at the center of the woofer cone. The cone doubles as a waveguide, aligning the dispersion of the two drivers so they behave as a single point source. That large woofer keeps cone movement to a minimum even on demanding low-frequency passages, delivering accurate mids, controlled bass, and effortless dynamics, while a corrugated surround improves linear excursion and protects the tweeter's wave expansion from diffraction.

Jones' "Twin Drive" magnet system pairs high-energy neodymium magnets on both the tweeter and woofer for a linear, low-distortion motor, with copper sleeves added to reduce nonlinear inductance. The cabinet is built from one-inch real-wood veneer panels with extensive internal bracing and a sculpted two-inch front baffle, whose swept-back facets cut the diffraction errors common to flat-baffle designs. Two large rear-firing vents allow high bass output with low turbulence, and removable grilles let you voice the speaker visually as well as sonically.
