[Pre Order] Ahmad Jamal - First Impressions: Live in Paris - LP *

Release Date: October 30, 2026

First official release: Ahmad Jamal live in Paris, June 25, 1971, on double vinyl LP.

Few pianists in jazz have used space and silence as deliberately as Ahmad Jamal. By 1971 his reputation was formidable: Miles Davis wrote that "all my inspiration comes from Jamal," and his 1958 recordings at the Pershing Lounge were among the best-selling jazz albums of the era. First Impressions captures his trio at Studio 104 at the Maison de la Radio in Paris, in a performance recorded for the ORTF and preserved in the INA archive for over five decades before its first official release.
