Pianist Alice Sara Ott presents the work of Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (1969–2018) as never heard before, making the world premiere recordings of a new volume of piano transcriptions that capture the essence of 30 of his most famous works. The selection spans Jóhannsson's career, from studio albums such as Englabörn and Orphée to his pioneering film and documentary scores including Copenhagen Dreams, Personal Effects, and the Golden Globe-winning The Theory of Everything. Recorded in Reykjavík with producer Bergur Þórisson, the intimate solo-piano settings reveal hidden nuances and enhance the purity and clarity intrinsic to Jóhannsson's music.
