In 1969, guitarist Buddy Guy got together with old Chicago blues pal Junior Wells, added jazz pianist Junior Mance, and cut a loose "unplugged" session for Blue Thumb Records that became the now-legendary Buddy and the Juniors. Relaxed and inviting, the trio runs through familiar tunes like Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Man" alongside off-the-cuff originals and two improvised tracks recorded in a single burst of creative energy. Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series presents it with a transfer from the analog tapes on remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
