Carl Perkins - Dance Album of Carl Perkins - Mono Hybrid SACD

Intervention Records launches its Sun Records Hi-Fi Series with the first-ever Mono Hybrid CD/SACD of Carl Perkins' 1957 rockabilly landmark — mastered direct-to-DSD from the original tapes, with 5 bonus tracks not on the LP.

Marking the 70th anniversary of "Blue Suede Shoes," this release returns to Carl Perkins' definitive performances of the songs he wrote and made famous — "Blue Suede Shoes," "Honey Don't," "Matchbox," and "Everybody's Trying to Be My Baby" — plus his covers of "Only You" and "Wrong Yo Yo." Intervention worked directly with Sun Records and the archive team at Iron Mountain to assemble a completely new set of A/B reel master tapes, with Shane Buettner and the Sun team auditioning the surviving 1/4" reels to identify the best-sounding version of every song.

Kevin Gray mastered the album direct-to-DSD at CoHEARent Audio, with Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center preparing the files and mastering the bonus tracks in the DSD domain from Gray's notes. The artwork was restored by IR Art Director Tom Vadakan from an original jacket and printed by Stoughton Printing, housed in a Super Jewel Box.
