Two of Mozart's best-known wind concertos, under the baton of Claudio Abbado, are released together for the first time on vinyl. Emmanuel Pahud's 1996 recording of the Flute and Harp Concerto in C major, with harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet, showcases his elegant, warm-toned playing. Sabine Meyer's 1998 reading of the Clarinet Concerto in A major is performed on the basset clarinet — the instrument Mozart originally conceived the work for — with a sublime, deeply felt Adagio. Both feature the Berliner Philharmoniker.
