RSD Essentials indie-exclusive reissue of Hadley Caliman's 1977 session Celebration, on blue 180-gram vinyl.
Tenor saxophonist Hadley Caliman — raised on the horn by Dexter Gordon and seasoned with Gerald Wilson, Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutcherson, and Santana — recorded Celebration for the West Coast Catalyst label, with his tenor and flute locked in alongside Elvin Jones on drums and Hotep Cecil Barnard on piano. One of the great undiscovered sessions of the spiritual jazz era. This RSD Essentials indie-exclusive edition is pressed on blue 180-gram vinyl.
