RSD Essentials indie-exclusive reissue of Jack McDuff's lost 1976 soul-jazz set Sophisticated Funk, on brown 180-gram vinyl.
Recorded at Platinum Studios in New Jersey in 1976, this lost electric groover of killer fusion and boogie funk is another feather in the cap of organist and bandleader Jack McDuff. Trading his usual Hammond for a slinky keyboard sound, the album features arrangements and guitar from Billy Jones alongside the sax and flute of Joe Farrell. This RSD Essentials indie-exclusive edition is pressed on brown 180-gram vinyl.
