Joined by guitarist Julian Lage, bassist Asante Santi Debriano and drummer Will Calhoun, Lovano shapes a striking, adventurous new chapter in his expansive oeuvre. By turns heavy and extroverted then intimate and tender, the four generations-spanning instrumentalists present a wide-flung program of the saxophonist's originals alongside an evocative pass at Wayne Shorter's "Lady Day" and Charlie Haden's "First Song." Recorded in the south of France in February 2025 and produced by Manfred Eicher.
