Talking Heads members Chris Frantz and David Byrne met as students at Rhode Island School of Design and made music in their college band, The Artistics. In spring 1974 the group recorded a demo tape featuring soon-to-be classics "Warning Sign" and "Psycho Killer." This collection pairs that newly discovered material with 11 demo and live tracks recorded by the original trio lineup — Byrne, Tina Weymouth, and Frantz — in 1975 and 1976, plus a bonus 7" single by The Artistics.
