Keyboardist and composer Doug Carn became the biggest star on the legendary Black Jazz Records label and remains a touchstone for spiritual jazz fans, but very few have heard his debut, cut for Savoy in 1969. Real Gone Music tracked down the original master tapes for this first-ever LP reissue, an all-analog edition pressed at Gotta Groove Records with their GrooveCoated stampers. It's a tight organ-trio set that opens with a groovin' cover of "Walk Right In" and showcases the forward-thinking playing and compositional prowess Carn would later flash on his Black Jazz releases.
