Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's New Jersey studio and originally released in 1960, Moodsville, Volume 1 launched Prestige's after-hours imprint and set its template: standards taken slow, played beautifully, recorded with room to breathe.

Red Garland's trio is joined by Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis on tenor saxophone, with Kenny Burrell on guitar, Sam Jones on bass and Art Taylor on drums. Craft Recordings and Acoustic Sounds bring the Moodsville catalog into their all-analog reissue program with this pressing, cut entirely from the original tapes.
