Designed as the ideal match for Thorens' TD 1600 and TD 1601, the TAS 1600 is a Japanese-made moving-coil cartridge built to deliver precise tracking, strong channel separation, and a finely resolved presentation that pulls out subtle musical detail without losing drive or body.
A solid boron cantilever carries a special line-contact diamond stylus deep into the groove, while the low 0.4mV output and 12-ohm internal impedance make it a textbook partner for a quality MC phono stage — especially over a balanced XLR connection, the way Thorens' current decks were designed to run.
