Night Parade of One Hundred Demons takes its name from Hyakki Yagyō, the Japanese legend of a yearly procession of demons and ghouls. After the shorter, vocal-led songs of 2018's Black Heaven, the San Diego power trio returns to the epic instrumentals that made their name. The album comprises two monster pieces — the two-part, 41-minute title track and the 20-minute "Death to the Red Sun" — and, according to the band, even features the very first Earthless riff, recorded 20 years after it was written.
