This top-notch stereo recording of Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, the Pathétique, was made by the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin under one of the great conductors of the 20th century, Ferenc Fricsay. Long left unreleased, it is notable for the wonderful clarity of its upper strings, preserved even in the softest passages.
