Jimi Hendrix - Songs For Groovy Children (The Fillmore East Concerts) - LP Box Set
8LP Box Set — All Four Fillmore East Band of Gypsys Concerts, 43 Tracks
Songs For Groovy Children assembles all four historic debut concerts by Jimi Hendrix's newly formed Band of Gypsys — recorded at New York's Fillmore East on New Year's Eve 1969 and New Year's Day 1970 — presented in their original performance sequence across 43 tracks. Newly mixed and restored without edits, the set captures Hendrix, Billy Cox, and Buddy Miles tearing through new songs like "Earth Blues" and "Stepping Stone" alongside supercharged favorites such as "Foxey Lady," "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)," "Wild Thing," "Hey Joe," and "Purple Haze." Produced by Janie Hendrix, Eddie Kramer, and John McDermott, and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Bernie Grundman, with unseen photos, remembrances from Billy Cox, and liner notes by Nelson George.
