The Doors - Live at the Matrix 1967 - Box Set LP
Numbered, Limited Edition 5LP & 7" Box Set – Sourced from the Original Master Tapes
In March 1967, just months before "Light My Fire" propelled them to stardom, The Doors played five shows at a small San Francisco club called The Matrix. Co-owner Peter Abram taped the performances, and his recordings became one of the band's most storied bootlegs. For the first time, all known Matrix recordings have been sourced entirely from Abram's original master tapes and remastered by The Doors' longtime engineer/mixer Bruce Botnick. Spanning 37 songs across five nights, the set captures Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore tearing through debut-album staples, early versions of Strange Days songs, and extended blues covers, including eight performances never featured on any previous Matrix release.
