Named after the early-20th-century Dutch art movement and magazine of the same name, the White Stripes' sophomore album was recorded in the comfortable confines of Jack White's Third Man Studio, then housed on the ground floor of his house in Southwest Detroit. This is the album that propelled the band into globe-trotting rock and roll prominence, pairing on-point covers of Son House and Blind Willie McTell with both minimal, downtempo numbers and maximum-energy explosions of unadulterated power. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a Stoughton tip-on sleeve.
