Released in 2019, Weezer's sixth self-titled album, known as The Black Album, was produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek. For the first time in the band's history, frontman Rivers Cuomo wrote the songs entirely on piano, and the band members swapped instruments in the studio. Filtered through Sitek's wide-ranging musical references, it's a bold, pop-forward step in Weezer's catalog.
